Building Resilience Through Agency
One of the things we love most about building Loretta is how it will empower our community. We’re not just following a prescribed plan; we have developed evidence-based goals that matter to us and are finding ways for everyone to achieve them on their own terms. Take Maria, for example, a fellow member of the Loretta community. Maria is a queer immigrant in her mid-30s who’s faced systemic homophobia, healthcare providers who didn’t understand her, and the chronic stress that comes with navigating those barriers.
Through Loretta, Maria gets insights about her health and the proactive actions she can take to maintain good health and wellness. Like so many of us, Maria’s journey wasn’t just about addressing physical health—it was about reclaiming her confidence and building a life where she feels empowered to prioritize herself.
Addressing Minority Stress to Strengthen Mental and Physical Health
Minority stress is something many of us in the Loretta community know all too well. The constant pressure of feeling unseen or misunderstood can have profound effects on our mental health, leading to anxiety, depression, and isolation. That’s why Loretta focuses so much on fostering connection and resilience.
By providing culturally competent insights and connecting us with an affirming platform, Loretta creates a supportive space where we can thrive. Whether through tips to manage stress or resources to help us better navigate the healthcare system, Loretta ensures we have what we need to stay mentally strong and emotionally grounded.
