Addressing Chronic Disease Disparities in LGBTQIA+ and Underserved Communities: An Intersectional Strategy Utilizing the Loretta Risk Score
Chronic diseases are a leading cause of morbidity and mortality in Europe, disproportionately burdening underserved populations. In Germany and across the European Union (EU), systemic inequities rooted in socioeconomic status, migration background, education, and identity exacerbate these disparities. Among the most marginalized groups are LGBTQIA+ individuals, who experience unique health risks and significant barriers to equitable care. Addressing these challenges demands innovative, inclusive approaches that transcend conventional health frameworks. The Loretta Risk Score system offers a transformative model, integrating social, environmental, and behavioural data to address chronic disease inequities in underserved communities.
